Review of Mistress of the Art of Death by Ariana Franklin in Audio Book Format
Mistress of the Art of Death is set in England during the reign of Henry II. The year is 1171 and in Cambridge there have been a series of murders of children. The Christian citizens have laid the blame upon the local Jewish population who have taken refuge under the protection of the king. The Jewish population is wealthy, and the king in order to protect the taxes that the jews pay has asked for help from the King of Sicily, his cousin. The King of Sicily sends Vesuvia Adelia Rachel Ortese Aguilar, a forensic pathologist and physician - the mistress of the art of death.
Adelia is a delightful character and out of time. She is a feminist with a marvellous sense of humour and a graduate of the School of Medicine in Salerno. She is accompanied by Simon of Naples and an Arab eunuch. Using her forensic skills her task is to identify the killer or killers. Winner of Best Historical Crime Novel 2007, it has failed to find the readers it deserves. Although it does contain some historical inaccuracies, it is a very well plotted & written novel. Hugely enjoyable.
The reader is Rosalyn Landor. She began her career at the age of ten when she appeared in the Hammer horror film The Devil Rides Out. She is best known for her roles on television series such as Rumpole of the Bailey (as Fiona Allways) and C.A.T.S. Eyes (as Pru Standfast). She does a excellent job, giving each of the characters a clear identity. Particularly enjoyable is her voice for the Prior who has taken her under her wing following a hilarious medical intervention at the beginning of the novel.
Ariana Franklin is the pseudonym of Diana Norman, a former Fleet Street reporter and wife of the film critic Barry Norman.

Whats the difference in audio book formats?
I want to pre-order the book Mistral's kiss on unabridged audio cd but I'm not sure which format to buy. They have one with the bar code 1423322304 that says unabridged lib ed for $70.72, one with barcode 1423322290 unabridged edition for $25.71 and one with barcode 1423322312 mp3 cd unab mp3 edition for $ 16.47. They all say they are unabridged audio cd. Whats the diffrence?

why can't i listen to audio books??
so..i just got an audio book,on cd..i copied it,but i can't listen to it.now..my question is...do i need a special program or codec to listen to it? the audio books format is MOV... I'm a beginner in this so pls help me...thanks a lot
