Audio Books Streaming There are many resources for children's books that can be read online. Many are audio books for kids that actually read to your kids aloud. There are many instances where these free children's stories come in handy for parents or caregivers. Online books can be utilized on family vacation, when books are left at home. Also, in the evening when children are going to bed parents can read bedtime stories accessible online, whether through free download, or streaming audio. Free audio downloads can be burned to CD and played in the car, or on personal CD players. Also, free mp3s for kids can be downloaded to iPods to be taken anywhere! Here are some places to find free audio books for kids online.

Storynory

Storynory is a British website chock-full of free audio stories for children. Popular classic stories such as Cinderella, The Three Little Pigs, Snow White, and Little Red Riding Hood are read aloud to kids in a pleasant British accent by a woman who could pass for Mary Poppins herself. Many other free audio books to choose from!

Audible Kids

Audible Kids is a website full of popular books for kids. Some are even read aloud by the actor who plays Gordon on Sesame Street, Roscoe Orman! Although many of the audio books presented by Audible Kids cost a small free, they do offer at least nine free audio stories, including such children's classics as: Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, Rip Van Winkle, Interview with Lemony Snicket, and The Gift of The Magi. They also offer books for a low 99 cents for download.

Audio Stories for Kids

This is another excellent source for no-cost audio books for youngsters. It is UK-based, similar to Storynory, and contains over 200 kids' audio mp3 stories, all for free! Some of the recordings include sound effects as well. Some titles include: Aesop's Fables, Alice in Wonderland, and The Princess and the Pea to name a few. They also offer free coloring pages, too.

Free Books

This is a site containing over 1000 free audio books. They have over 130 Children's books read in mp3 format to choose from. Such classic children's titles include: Gulliver's Travels, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz, and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.

Audio books can be an excellent alternative to TV, and act as a great stand-in for mom or dad when kids want to hear yet another bedtime story. Also, children will benefit from hearing some of the classic children's tales, as well as their favorites. Hearing stories being read aloud helps kids develop a lifelong love of reading.

Audio books, streaming... Like netflix?
Are there any sites that offer *Streaming* or instant play audio books online? NOT Audible.com! You have to purchase and download there. I just want to listen once, but I want a selection that I can pick from. I am not looking for free sites or anything, I'll pay for an account. But ,I don't want to download or buy them outright, or have to get them through the mail on CD and then send them back. I want something like netflix instant play-where you can watch unlimited instant play movies for a monthly fee. But, for audio books. I've looked and looked for a site like this, but all I can find are sites where you can download a limited number of books for a monthly fee, purchase and download individual books, or have them mailed to you on CD. But, I don't want to listen more then once, so buying/downloading is inconvenient. And I don't want CD's. I just want a site that will let me pay them a monthly fee, and steam however many I want.
