Fans Converge In Stores For New Moon DVD Release

New Moon Audio Book On the night of March 19, 2010, the eve of the New Moon DVD release, fans flocked to the stores with high anticipation for their DVD copies that were finally getting available by midnight. Stores were left open late in the evening to host these happenings all over the US. The jam-packed stores were filled with vampire- and wolf-smitten children, teens and even adults who were waiting for their DVD copies.

The stores provided a number of events for the fans. These includes exclusive New Moon Midnight Release Parties, Team Edward and Team Jacob Debates, New Moon Quote Contests, New Moon Movie Awards and other activities especially made for the Edward-Bella and Jacob-Bella fans.

Prior to hitting the store shelves, a number of people were already able to request pre-ordered 2-disc Special Edition DVD and Special Edition Blu-Ray copies through New Moon DVD release online reservation portals. And there were Twilighters who got the option to download the movie by the release day.

Hyping up the New Moon DVD further were the exclusive extras from the Twilight Saga's next movie Eclipse. Along with the film copy, the DVD included a six-part behind-the-scene documentary, rehearsal footages, three music videos from Death Cab for Cutie, Anya Marina and Mute Math, and also an audio commentary by director Chris Weitz and editor Peter Lambert.

This film adaptation from the bestselling book of Stephenie Meyer is expected to rake on DVD sales like its predecessor Twilight which topped the DVD charts during its release.

The third film of the franchise entitled Eclipse is expected for release by the end of June 2010.
