Sony had brought out their PRS 700 touch screen Reader last year. This e-book reader is your companion for relaxing as it comes with a host of features with a 440 MB of usable inbuilt memory that is capable of storing about 350 e-books.

There is also a secondary unit for memory Stick Duo and SD memory cards. Users can use the noting and annotating capacities by directly writing on the added stylus, JPEG image viewer and listen to MP3 audio. First Look

The Sony PRS 700 touch screen Reader measures 7 inches by 5 inches and weighs about 0.63 lbs. The diagonal of the screen is all of 6 inches and is bigger than the average reader.

The PRS 700 Reader comes with leather styled cover that is extremely sleek to look at. The model is available in silver, red and black contrasts and hence abides by the minimalist look and style. Moreover, there are just a handful of buttons.

Features

The Sony Reader Touch uses e-ink technology that makes the letters and words on the screen appear like you are reading them on print.

If the page is turned or scrolled between the on screen menus, the screen takes a while to refresh. The fast processor enables swift PDF downloads as well and is equipped with a zoom feature.

The icons and letters of the Reader Touch are prominent and this varies between the PRS 600 and PRS 300 models. The PRS 600 Reader Touch also has a reflective screen when the e-book is tilted.

The size of the letters can be adjusted with the Size button; select from the extra-extra large, extra large, large, medium and small fonts. Users can adjust the screen display according to vertical or horizontal patterns.

Once you tap the words with your stylus or fingernail, there is an immediate dictionary reference obtained by the user. The stylus offers easy e-book annotation allowing you to print off the notes later on.

In fact, the reader also has this unique way of selecting from an entire tome. The double tap option comes with an onboard dictionary feature that pops up to supply you with a definition, which means you don't have to tax your brain; the online dictionary at Sony Reader Touch does the needful.

Battery Life

The battery life of the Touch Reader is claimed by Sony to be around 2 weeks, although when left on all the time, the battery support lasts 2 days or 48 hours. Considering the average reading time of around 2 hours a day, the battery run can last up to 16 days.
